Mr Shariff

Mr Sajid Shariff is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the BMI Somerfield Hospital in Maidstone, Kent and is based at the NHS Medway Maritime Hospital. His orthopaedic training was completed at the North West Thames Orthopaedic Training programme based at Imperial College, London.

He has fellowship training in complex foot and ankle surgery at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore and also undertook a visiting fellowship in the Clinique de L’Union in Toulouse, which is well known for minimally invasive forefoot surgery and ankle joint replacement.

His current practice is in lower limb surgery and he has a special interest in arthroscopic surgery and ligament reconstruction for sports injuries, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. He takes part in the on call rota for trauma and receives tertiary referrals for complex ankle, Lisfranc and calcaneal fractures.
With an interest in clinical research and audit he has widely published and presented at various national and international meetings. He is also regularly involved in teaching and training junior doctors in orthopaedics and has been a faculty member on training courses.
