New Shoulder and Elbow treatments Mr Duncan Tennent, consultant shoulder and elbow surgeon at Wimbledon Clinics, now offers a one stop clinic for many shoulder problems with the introduction of ultrasound in the clinic. This technique enables an instant diagnosis of many rotator cuff problems and facilitates accurate steroid injections, should they be necessary. This technique is covered by all major insurers. The South African Orthopaedic Association recently invited Mr Tennent to their annual conference in Cape Town as one of three international guests, the others being from France and the USA. Mr Tennent spoke on rotator cuff repair and his patented technique for stabilising acromioclavicular joint dislocations, as well as sitting on a panel with the other experts discussing problem cases. Mr Tennent was also invited to teach advanced arthroscopic procedures to the new fellows at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia, one of Americas most prestigious centres for arthroscopic training.
