Olympics keep sports physician busy

August 2008

Wimbledon Clinics sports physician Dr Mike Rossiter has never been so busy on a hockey tour. His list of eight MRI scans, 17 ultrasounds and six players requiring surgery, reads like the medal tally of Team GB!

Mike was team doctor to the men's and women's Olympic hockey teams in Beijing. He reports that, despite the injuries, morale was fantastic among all the participants who shared the overall feeling of triumph – particularly since the hockey team were sharing accommodation with the cycling team. Mike particularly enjoyed the chance to mix with top international sports stars, such as when he swam alongside Michael Phelps in the pool.
